Your Tasks

As a Data Steward, you will:

  • Develop and Oversee Data Governance: Build, implement, and monitor data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data standards across the organization. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Master Data, taking ownership of master data integrity in key systems.
  • Enhance Data Quality: Continuously monitor and ensure data quality, identifying inconsistencies and errors. Work closely with operational teams and IT to resolve complex data quality issues, align master data rules, and implement internal controls.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement: Drive a mindset of continuous improvement by refining Master Data operational processes using lean tools and best practices. Provide active improvement ideas for tools supporting centralized data services and adapt processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Engage with various stakeholders to gather and analyze business processes, identify requirements, and explore opportunities for improvement. Represent the organization’s centralized data services internally and externally, effectively communicating with team members and customers.
  • Project Management and Training: Manage data-related initiatives, implement change management, and provide training and support to business users on data governance principles and practices. Influence and make recommendations to the business on the importance of maintaining high data quality.
  • Utilize Technical Tools: Work with a combination of custom-built tools, SAP MDG, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft Office tools to support data management and governance activities.
  • Ensure Robustness and Scalability: Ensure that all processes and solutions are robust, sustainable, and scalable. Have the courage to question existing practices and advocate for necessary changes to improve data management.

Your Profile

  • University degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Intercultural competence and fluent English communication skills spoken and written; further languages are welcome.
  • Experience working in the role of a data steward for a minimum of 3 years, ideally for a medium to large financial services organization.
  • Hands-on experience with data management tools such as such as, SAP MDG, SQL, Python or R for data analysis, Power BI, QlikView and other lineage or data quality tools would be a nice to have.
  • A change agent; Able to drive and demonstrate progress with a view on E2E Process and Know-How in P2P, O2C and R2R.
  • Project management and Change management qualification or proven track record of successfully delivering added value to complex projects.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and high pace environment.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about master data.
  • Can-do attitude and able to adapt to constant changes.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
