Your Tasks

Purpose of the role
For our Global R&D team, Digitalization is a key strategic pillar to empower impactful skin care innovations that touch people’s life. 
If you are an experienced digital leader with the ability to link technology and business and to successfully drive Digital Transformation you can be our Head of Digital R&D (all genders). The role reports directly to our Vice President R&D Controlling & Transformation and is responsible for designing, steering and implementing our digital roadmap, tools, technology and platforms.

                           
Your tasks in detail: 

  • Continuously further develop the strategy for R&D Digital including its continuous transformation to ensure a future ready set-up (levers, building blocks, data & processes, tools, program management, upskilling and ways of working) 
  • Identify opportunities for Digital Transformation with experts in all R&D functions in HQ and in the regional R&D Hubs
  • Analyze key processes in the R&D to identify potentials for automation & digitalization to increase efficiency
  • Drive & challenge digital transformation initiatives to ensure maximum value contribution and maximum speed in execution
  • Ensure cross-functional fit of R&D digitalization strategy with overall Beiersdorf digitalization strategy 
  • Monitor & report progress of all digital transformation initiatives and initiate counteract activities in case milestones are not met
  • Ensure the development & implementation of necessary tools & processes to sustainably anchor digital transformation in the organization
  • Manage and further develop the central R&D digitalization organization and support a culture of learning, co-creation, continuous improvement, and a collective spirit of purpose

Your Profile

  • You have a MBA or another Graduate Level Degree related to business, information technology, digital, engineering or science functions.
  • Experience in driving Digital Transformation in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, consumer goods or technology industry is highly desirable.
  • Through your fundamental experience in leading bigger teams and managing large-scale projects, your acquired strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing and developing diverse and high-performing teams.
  • Ability to inspire others by bringing out the best in people, to drive shared, creative solutions is one of your strengths. 
  • You have proven strong matrix leadership and influencing skills, experience in senior stakeholder management, deep expertise in conflict management, change management, and comprehensive understanding of employee engagement principles.
  • You bring highly developed written and verbal communication skills in English to work successfully in a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary way in a complex environment.
  • High learning agility, excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skills as well as organizational skills distinguishes you.
