Packaging Sustainability Coordinator – Aluminum

 

Main responsabilities: 

 

  • Represents the Regional Packaging Development in direction to accomplish sustainability goals
  • Support Beiersdorf commitments and ambition to reduce CO2 emissions and Net zero pledge.
  • Steers and supervises developments of material at external suppliers and internal partners (considers environmental requirements in Aluminum supply chain)
  • Applies corporate packaging guidelines and processes in the region for specific fields (Aluminum / metallurgy)
  • Initiate and steer mandatory and optional tests methods in cooperation with the regional R&D laboratories (externally and internally)
  • Supports packaging sourcing team in selection process, auditing and release of regional/global Aluminum suppliers located in the region.
  • Assures coordination of all defined packaging development work packages regarding completeness, in time accomplishment, quality and costs
  • Facilitate the accomplishment of the NetZero pledge in the organization by leading and playing an active role in sustainability pillars.
  • Utilize outside resources to find new sources of ideas and technical solutions to guarantee best practices and up to date material knowledge
  • Tracking associations and global trends for decarbonization path

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related areas.
  • Experience Time (in the area):
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging development
  • Knowledge of packaging materials such as Metals, Polymers, Ceramics etc.;
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes of Aluminum, metal packaging, Cans, Bottles, Jars, Tubes and other materials for cosmetic application;
  • Knowledge of metrology, process capabilities and reading and interpretation of technical drawings;
  • Good knowledge of the internal stages of packaging development - dimensional validation, functional tests and specific tests related to product sustainability and safety.
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Analysis tools, Circular Economy, Reverse Logistics, sustainability and environmental laws and regulations
  • Fluent English

  • Assertive and adaptive communication (hierarchy and interfaces)
  • Emotional intelligence and maturity when faced with challenges and challenging interfaces.
